PT. Traktor Nusantara is one of the strategic spare parts warehouses of the company. The operational reliability issue is related to the delays in spare parts retrieval. One of the main causes is the long order picking process, which is due to the inefficient warehouse layout. As a result, workers have difficulty finding the required items and must travel long distances to retrieve goods. The purpose of this study is to address these issues by implementing the dedicated storage method. This method focuses on overcoming obstacles in the put-away process, order picking, and the low space utilisation, which potentially hinders productivity. The study processes five key data points: space requirement, throughput, assignment, material handling, and total trips. The results show that the existing layout is more efficient, with a total distance travelled (total trips) of 8,158.51 metres, whereas the new layout reaches 9,210.97 metres, an increase of 12.9%. This increase is due to the repositioning of racks, which caused high-throughput items to be placed further from the operational points. Although the new layout improves storage organisation and space utilisation, its operational efficiency has not improved due to the higher total trips. The placement of high-throughput items, such as oil filters and engine oil, significantly affects the efficiency of material flow in the warehouse.
