Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of optimizing sports facilities and infrastructure in improving students' motivation and discipline at the Senior High School (SMA) level. Sports facilities and infrastructure are essential supporting factors in the successful implementation of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning. The availability of adequate and well-managed facilities is believed to encourage students to actively participate in sports activities while instilling disciplinary values through orderliness, compliance with rules, and responsibility in every activity.
This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included Physical Education teachers, school principals, and senior high school students. Data were analyzed qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The results indicate that the optimization of sports facilities and infrastructure makes a significant contribution to enhancing students' motivation and discipline. Students who have access to complete and appropriate sports facilities demonstrate greater enthusiasm in participating in learning activities and exhibit more disciplined behavior in adhering to established rules.
In conclusion, the optimization of sports facilities and infrastructure not only affects students' physical development but also supports the formation of positive character traits, including high motivation and discipline in their daily lives.
