Abstract

The Palestine-Israel conflict is one of the most complex and protracted international conflicts that has yet to reach a resolution. Numerous peace efforts have been attempted by various parties, yet the conflict persists without a definitive end. Each year, recurring violence continues to cause suffering for the Palestinian people. This ongoing reality has fostered global solidarity, including in Indonesia, which shares historical, political, and emotional ties with the Palestinian cause. The Indonesian public consistently expresses support for Palestinian freedom, both through tangible actions and moral support articulated on social media. Social media X (formerly Twitter) has become one of the most dominant platforms for voicing the Palestinian issue. Through the hashtag #FreePalestine, Indonesian society demonstrates solidarity, disseminates information about the development of the conflict, and strengthens support for the Palestinian struggle. Within the framework of digital activism, social media serves as a new medium for expressing public opinion, accelerating the distribution of information, and providing broader participation in global issues. It functions as a modern social movement strategy that leverages digital platforms to construct narratives, mobilize solidarity, and influence public opinion. This study aims to analyze the strategy of digital activism #FreePalestine in shaping Indonesian society’s support for the Palestine-Israel conflict through social media X. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with literature study as the data collection method, this research demonstrates how digital activism such as #FreePalestine can optimally utilize social media technology and generate significant impact.
