Abstract
Regina Alia Mahriza. NIM 202210040311410. LOGIKA DI BALIK IMAN: ANALISIS RESEPSI NILAI ISLAM DALAM KOLABORASI PODCAST ESCAPE RAYMOND CHIN & FELIX SIAUW. Undergraduate Thesis, Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, 2026.
The development of digital technology has created new opportunities for the dissemination of Islamic preaching dakwah through various media platforms, one of which is podcast content. This study aims to examine how the administrators of DKM Masjid ASA interpret Islamic values conveyed through a logical approach in the ESCAPE Podcast Episode 21 featuring Raymond Chin and Felix Siauw. This research employed a qualitative approach within a constructivist paradigm. The method used was reception analysis based on Stuart Hall's encoding/decoding theory, which categorizes audience interpretations into three positions: dominant reading, negotiated reading, and oppositional reading. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with six active administrators of DKM Masjid ASA selected using purposive sampling techniques and were analyzed using the interactive analysis model of Miles and Huberman. The findings reveal that all participants occupied two interpretive positions, namely dominant reading and negotiated reading, with no participants found in the oppositional reading position. Most participants fully accepted the dakwah messages and reinforced them with their prior religious knowledge. Meanwhile, some participants accepted the substance of the messages while maintaining a critical stance, particularly regarding discussions related to the roles and rights of women in Islam. These differences in interpretation were shaped by participants' educational backgrounds, religious experiences, and awareness of their respective social contexts.
