Hubungan Antara Komunikasi Ayah Dan Anak Perempuan Dengan Pengungkapan Diri Pada Mahasiswi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang Angakatan 2022

This study aims to measure the magnitude of the relationship between father-daughter closeness and self-disclosure among female students of Communication Science Class of 2022 at Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The research instrument measures father closeness based on five aspects according to DeVito (openness, empathy, support, positive attitude, and equality) as well as self-disclosure based on six aspects according to Jourard (attitudes and opinions, tastes and interests, work and education, personality, finances, and body). The research method used is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research population consists of 233 Communication Science students from the Class of 2022, with a sample of 70 respondents determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through an online questionnaire using a Likert scale of 1–4. The results show that the magnitude of the relationship of X toward Y is 0.356 or 35.6% toward self-disclosure. The conclusion of the study is that the closeness between father and daughter has a moderate effect on self-disclosure, indicating that there are other factors that influence a child's self-disclosure.
