Abstract

The Pertamina corruption case is a public issue that has attracted public attention on social media. The development of digital platforms, particularly TikTok, allows people not only to consume information but also to express their emotions through the comments section. This study investigates how netizen anger emerges and is constructed in the comments section of the TikTok account @newsvalid.id regarding news about the Pertamina corruption case. This study uses a qualitative methodology involving text analysis of netizen comments on video uploads related to the Pertamina corruption case. The research data was obtained from these comments. The research shows that netizens' anger narratives can take various forms, such as criticism of institutions, condemnation of individuals who commit corruption, expressions of dissatisfaction with law enforcement, and moral demands on the government. These narratives demonstrate that social media functions as a digital public space that allows people to convey collective moral and emotional evaluations of corruption issues. This study confirms that comments made by netizens on social media are more than just spontaneou responses; rather, they shape public discourse that reflects society's critical attitudes toward corruption.
