Abstract

PT X is one of the major companies in East Java engaged in the transportation
sector, with a fleet serving various industries, including mining and tourism. However, the
phenomenon of work stress frequently arises due to a mismatch between tasks and job
descriptions, excessive workloads, and miscommunication among colleagues, which results in
high resignation rates and increased sick leave. On the other hand, the phenomenon of
resilience is also observed in many employees who are able to adapt and continue to complete
their tasks even under high pressure. This study aims to examine the relationship between
resilience and work stress among employees at PT X. The research method used was
correlational quantitative, involving 100 employees through convenience sampling techniques.
The research instruments consisted of the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and
the Job Stress Scale (JSS). The analysis results showed a significant negative relationship
between resilience and job stress, with a correlation coefficient of -0.240 and significance of
0.016 (p < 0.05). These findings confirm that the higher the level of resilience, the lower the
level of job stress experienced by employees. The implications of this research are expected to
encourage the management of PT X to prioritize employees' psychological factors through
more targeted resilience development programs and to build a supportive work culture.
