Abstract

The Swiss Belinn Hotel Surabaya is a 15 story building with a dual earthquake resistant system in the form of a moment resistant frame and shear walls. The asymmetrical placement of shear walls
in this building has the potential to cause torsional moments due to the relatively large eccentricity of the building. To avoid large eccentricities, the building can be pla nned with symmetrical
placement of shear walls to obtain a smaller building eccentricity. The planning will refer to SNI2847 2019 concerning structural concrete requirements for buildings and SNI 1726 2019
concerning earthquake resistance planning procedu res for buildings and non building structures. This building is planned to use beams with dimensions of 30/60, main beams with dimensions of 50/100 and 40/90, columns with dimensions of 110/110 cm, 100/100 cm and 90/90 cm, floor slabs with a thickness of 1 20 mm, roof slabs with a thickness of 120 mm, and shear walls with a thickness of 300 mm. In addition, the use of symmetrically placed shear walls in buildings has been shown to provide smaller eccentricity values compared to existing buildings.
