This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of agricultural extension in the development of farmer groups. The research was conducted in Petungsewu Village, Dau District. The method used was qualitative with data sources of direct questions and answers and questionnaires. Research results The level of effectiveness of agricultural extension activities in improving farmer groups shows a significant figure, namely an average of more than 60%, where extension workers function as teachers, organizers, motivators, facility providers, liaisons, and mediators and extension workers including the limited number of extension workers, the long time required for farmers to absorb information, low levels of education, many farmers are elderly, and the existence of agricultural technology tools that are still traditional
