Abstract
The transition to parenthood, particularly for mothers with young children, is a period that requires significant adjustment in caregiving roles and may lead to parenting stress. Parenting stress refers to a condition in which the demands of caregiving are perceived as exceeding an individual’s capacity to cope. This study aims to examine differences in parenting stress levels among mothers with young children based on the number of children, type of occupation, and type of caregiving. This research employed a quantitative approach with a comparative design. The participants consisted of 747 mothers with young children selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was a parenting stress scale, and data were analyzed using a One-Way ANOVA test with the assistance of JASP software. The results indicated that there were no significant differences in parenting stress levels based on the number of children, type of occupation, and type of caregiving (p > 0.05). These findings suggest that demographic factors are not the primary determinants of parenting stress among mothers, but are more likely influenced by other factors such as social support, division of caregiving roles, and individual psychological conditions.
