Abstract
Career decision-making among fresh graduates is a key factor in determining the direction of long-term career development amidst job market concerns, social pressures, and limited work experience. Fresh graduates are required to be able to make career choices adaptively and responsibly. Individuals with high self-determination tend to be able to direct behavior and performance choices based on meaningful personal values and goals. However, this self-determination needs to be supported by self-efficacy to be realized in effective career decisions. This study aims to examine the role of self-efficacy in mediating the influence of self-determination on career decision-making among fresh graduates. This study used a non-experimental quantitative approach. The research subjects were 312 fresh
graduates selected using the Accidental Sampling technique. The instruments used included a career decision-making difficulty questionnaire, a self-determination scale, and career decision-making self-efficacy. Data analysis was conducted using the Hayes PROCESS Model 4 mediation analysis. The results of the analysis showed that self-efficacy partially mediated the influence of self-determination on career decision-making. These findings suggest that self-determination influences career decision-making both directly and through self-efficacy as a partial mediator.
