REGULASI EMOSI SEBAGAI PREDIKTOR STRES PENGASUHAN: UJI PERAN MODERASI DUKUNGAN SOSIAL PADA ORANG TUA ANAK BERKEBUTUHAN KHUSUS

Parenting children with special needs has more complex psychological demands and has the potential to increase parenting stress for parents. This study aims to examine the influence of emotion regulation on parenting stress and examine the role of social support moderation in parents of children with special needs. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design on 190 parents of children with special needs in the areas of Batu City, Malang City, and Malang Regency who were selected using accidental sampling techniques. Data were collected using the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), Parental Stress Scale (PSS), and Brief Form of the Perceived Social Support Questionnaire (F-SozU). Data analysis was carried out using moderation regression. The results of the study showed that emotion regulation had a significant effect on parenting stress, social support had a significant effect on parenting stress, and social support was proven to moderate the relationship between emotional regulation and parenting stress. High social support is able to weaken the influence of emotion regulation on parenting stress. These findings show that parenting stress is influenced by the interaction between internal and external factors, so interventions focused on strengthening emotional regulation and social support in parents of children with special needs are needed.
