Abstract
This study aims to describe how national online media (Detik.com) and international online media (Aljazeera.com) frame the coverage of demonstrations against parliamentary allowances for the period of August 25-31, 2025, and how such framing contributes to the construction of social reality. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with Robert N. Entman's framing analysis model, which includes four elements: define problems, diagnose causes, make judgment, and treatment recommendation. Additionally, this study utilizes the Social Construction of Reality theory by Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann. The results show that Detik.com tends to frame the demonstrations through the lens of law and order and the socio- economic impact on low-income citizens using human interest strategies, often constructing the protests as "haunting" and destructive events. Conversely, Aljazeera.com consistently uses conflict and economic consequence frames, positioning the demonstrations as a crisis of democracy and resistance against social inequality caused by unempathetic political elite policies. These differences in framing prove that social reality in media texts is not merely a report of facts but a result of construction influenced by editorial positions and the interests of media institutions.
