Abstract

The drug problem in Southeast Asia is high, especially in the area known as the Golden Triangle as the largest drug production area in Southeast Asia. The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), with its parliamentary diplomatic function, is involved in multi-track diplomacy in efforts to support Indonesian foreign policy, in this case the eradication of drug abuse at the national and regional levels. The purpose of this study is to provide an understanding of parliament in its parliamentary diplomatic function to achieve national interests in the international arena. The study uses constructivism theory as a form of construction that includes the exchange of information between countries, the encouragement of influence using state ideas ideationaly and intersubjectively. The research method uses qualitative descriptive methods to describe events and present research based on analysis. The drug problem in Indonesia in 2019-2024 presents data on fluctuating drug abuse figures. This problem is rooted in cultural, economic, weak law enfrocement, family, religious, and political factors. The DPR RI carries out its efforts through its legislative and oversight functions. The DPR RI plays a role in AIPACODD as a transmitter of reports on drug abuse in Indonesia and proposes AIPACODD resolution points.
