Abstract
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a complex and ongoing conflict. One of the actors playing a significant role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the United States. Each US president has had a different approach and foreign policy in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Donald Trump proposed a controversial proposal that he claimed could resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Trump's policy drew a reaction from Jordan, a country with strategic interests in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Jordan rejected Trump's policy by consistently implementing the two-state solution stipulated in the 1948 UN Resolution. Jordan's foreign policy in responding to Trump's policy is analyzed using relational choice theory on the influence of actor rationality in making a country's foreign policy. This research is an explanatory study using secondary data and inductive data collection techniques to explain why King Abdullah II rejected Donald Trump's Deal of The Century.
