Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of workload on turnover intention, with emotional exhaustion as a mediating variable, among Billman (Billing Management) employees of PT Nusa Daya ULP Pangkalan Bun. This research employed an explanatory design with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 42 respondents, all of whom were Billman employees of PT Nusa Daya ULP Pangkalan Bun. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that workload has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention. Workload also has a positive and significant effect on emotional exhaustion. In addition, emotional exhaustion has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention. Furthermore, emotional exhaustion partially mediates the relationship between workload and turnover intention. These findings indicate that increased workload can trigger emotional exhaustion, which in turn increases employees’ turnover intention.
