Abstract

Rehabilitation is a medical treatment effort aimed at drug users and individuals who experience drug abuse. This process is carried out for medical purposes or healing with controlled and legitimate doses. The use of the substance is considered legal if it is done for medical purposes and is supported by written permission from the competent authority. The author wants to conduct research on how to apply medical rehabilitation to drug convicts who use drugs for themselves at the Class IIB Pasuruan Penitentiary, especially in general correctional institutions so as to cure and improve the victim's physical condition and restore the social function of the drug victim. In accordance with the issues studied by the author, the approach used is socio-legal research. Socio-legal research methods are needed to overcome various problems of social injustice. From the results of the research obtained, there are two main stages in the implementation of medical rehabilitation for drug abuse convicts for themselves at the Class IIB Pasuruan Penitentiary. The first stage is the screening stage. This stage aims to identify the types of substances used and also the level of risk of drug abuse. Next, the second stage is assessment, which is defined as a process to collect information about the client as a whole, both when the client starts the program, during the program, and until the client completes the program
