Abstract
This study aims to identify the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) among Arabic Language Education students at UMM, including the types of AI used, patterns of utilization, and their advantages and disadvantages. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with research subjects consisting of UMM Arabic Language Education students from 4 semesters selected using purposive sampling techniques from the collected questionnaire data. Data collection methods included observation, open-ended questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis model used by the researcher was the interactive Miles & Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that UMM Arabic Language Education students utilize various Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms such as Chat GPT, Gemini, Perplexity AI, Quillbot, and DeepL to support the learning process. The patterns of AI utilization by students include searching for information, translating Arabic texts, correcting grammar, creating summaries, and compiling ideas for academic writing. The use of AI offers various advantages, such as ease of access to information, time efficiency, and assistance with independent learning, but it also has disadvantages, such as the potential for dependence, the possibility of misinformation, and concerns about academic integrity.
