Abstract
Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is an important raw material in the palm oil industry whose quality may decline during storage due to an increase in Free Fatty Acid (FFA) levels. The increase in FFA levels is influenced by several factors, particularly storage duration and storage methods related to the oil’s exposure to air, humidity, and environmental temperature. This study aimed to determine the effect of storage duration and storage methods on changes in FFA levels in CPO and to analyze their relationship using simple linear regression. The study was conducted over 21 days using three storage conditions, namely closed, semi-open, and open storage. FFA analysis was carried out using the acid-base titration method with 0.1 N NaOH solution. The data were analyzed quantitatively using simple linear regression, where storage duration was treated as the independent variable and FFA level as the dependent variable. This study is expected to provide scientific information regarding the effect of storage conditions on changes in CPO quality during storage and to serve as a reference in determining more effective storage methods to maintain CPO quality.
