Abstract
Social media is not only used as a means of entertainment, but also as a medium for disseminating information and education to the public. One form of educational content found on social media discusses pornography addiction and its relation to psychological conditions, behavior, and brain function. This study aims to identify the educational messages conveyed through TikTok content on the account @dr.bobbybicara regarding pornography addiction. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive content analysis method. The data were obtained from five TikTok videos discussing pornography addiction. The analysis employed educational message categorizations consisting of informative, understanding, preventive, and solution-oriented messages. The findings show that informative, preventive, and understanding messages are the dominant categories in the content. Informative messages explain the effects of pornography on psychological conditions, behavior, and brain function, while understanding messages describe addiction processes, recurring urges (craving), and neuroplasticity. Preventive messages emphasize the risks associated with pornography consumption, whereas solution-oriented messages present recovery efforts through behavioral changes and positive activities. The study also found that the educational messages were delivered using communicative and simple language combined with popular scientific terms such as dopamine, neuroplasticity, hypofrontality, and prefrontal cortex. Thus, the TikTok account @dr.bobbybicara can be understood as a form of digital educational media regarding pornography addiction.
