Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of workload and job demands on job stress with work-life balance as a mediating variable among employees of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Kawi Malang Branch Office. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research type to explain the relationship between variables empirically. The population in this study were all 101 employees of BRI Kawi Malang Branch Office. The sampling technique used total sampling, so that all members of the population were used as research respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using the Process Macro Hayes method to test the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that workload and job demands have a positive and significant effect on job stress. In addition, both variables also affect work-life balance. Work-life balance has been proven to have a significant effect on job stress and is able to mediate the influence of workload and job demands on job stress. In discussion, high workload and job demands that are not balanced with adequate resources can increase employee psychological stress. Work-life balance acts as a balancing mechanism that helps employees manage work pressure, maintain personal life balance, and reduce work stress levels. Therefore, companies need to manage workloads and support employee work-life balance to improve well-being and productivity.
