Abstract
Extra-role behavior is characterized by high levels of work enthusiasm, willingness to perform tasks beyond formal job responsibilities, and proactive efforts to assist coworkers and support organizational functioning. These conditions indicate the presence of employee work involvement associated with the manifestation of behaviors beyond formal role requirements. This study aimed to examine the effect of work engagement on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among employees in the industrial sector in South Tangerang City. A correlational quantitative approach was employed, involving 347 participants selected through accidental sampling. Work engagement was measured using the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9), while organizational citizenship behavior was assessed using an OCB scale. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results revealed that work engagement had a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) (p < 0.05). Among the dimensions of work engagement, absorption exhibited the strongest effect with a negative association, whereas vigor and dedication showed positive effects.
