Abstract
This study aims to describe the importance of using gamification methods and their implementation in Islamic jurisprudence learning at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, located at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang City. While the informants were the Principal of Madrasah with the initials A, the subject teacher of Islamic jurisprudence with the initials B, and students of class VIII totaling 4 male and female students, with the initials C1 and C2 (male) and D1 and D2 (female). Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. While the data analysis technique uses the theory of Miles, Huberman and Saldana through 3 stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity test uses source triangulation techniques, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the implementation of gamification methods in Islamic jurisprudence learning. The results of the study indicate that the gamification method is important to use in Islamic jurisprudence learning, because it is able to increase student motivation, interest, and involvement in the learning process. The implementation of the gamification method was carried out through three activities: initial activities, including greetings, prayers, apperception, and conveying learning objectives. Core activities included conveying the objectives of the material presented, delivering material on the theme of zakat, using gamification methods in fiqh learning, and using Kahoot media in fiqh learning. Closing activities included reflection, evaluation, conclusions, and prayers. Students showed positive responses, such as being more active, enthusiastic, and not easily bored. However, there were several obstacles, such as limited infrastructure and a lack of variation in the implementation of gamification.
