Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes to people's lives, particularly in the interaction patterns of children and adolescents in the digital space. Ease of access to the internet and social media not only has positive impacts but also opens up opportunities for deviant behavior, one of which is online sexual violence involving children as both perpetrators and victims. This phenomenon is a serious concern because it can impact children's psychological development and give rise to complex legal consequences. This study aims to analyze the factors causing online sexual violence by children from a criminological perspective, specifically among Children in Conflict with the Law in Malang Regency. The research method used is empirical research with a juridical-criminological approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and literature studies. The results show that internal factors include curiosity about sexuality, unstable psychological conditions of adolescents, and low self-control in online media use. Meanwhile, external factors include lack of parental supervision, less harmonious family conditions, and the influence of the social environment and peers, which also strengthen the occurrence of deviant behavior. Based on these results, it can be concluded that online sexual violence by children is the result of a complex interaction between internal and external factors that influence each other. Therefore, preventive efforts are needed through increased supervision, moral education, and digital literacy in the use of online media for children.
