Abstract

This research aims to investigate the implementation of Wordwall game media in teaching and learning English and to explore students’ perceptions toward its use at Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Mutiara Cindekia Lubuk Linggau. This research was conducted due to several common problems in English learning, such as low student motivation, anxiety and the limited use of interactive media in the classroom.
This research employed a qualitative case study design. The participants consisted of one English teacher and sixth-grade students, particularly class 6B. The data were collected through observation, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis for qualitative data and descriptive statistics for questionnaire results.
The findings showed that the teacher applied Wordwall in a structured way, including aligning activities with learning objectives, adjusting tasks to students’ levels, using a projector for classroom interaction and providing immediate feedback. In addition, students showed very positive perceptions toward the use of Wordwall. They felt more interested, active, and motivated during the learning process.
However, this research was limited to one class in a single school, so the findings cannot be generalized. Overall, Wordwall can be considered an effective and engaging media to support English learning at the elementary level.
