Abstract
Abstrak. Remaja yang tinggal di lingkungan boarding school menghadapi dinamika interaksi sosial yang intens selama 24 jam, sehingga membutuhkan keterampilan komunikasi yang mumpuni untuk beradaptasi dan meminimalkan konflik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh emotional intelligence dan moral intelligence terhadap komunikasi interpersonal remaja di boarding school. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 317 siswa boarding school di Malang berusia 13-18 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi skala Komunikasi Interpersonal (adaptasi teori DeVito), Assessing Emotional Scale (AES), dan Moral Competency Inventory (MCI). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa emotional intelligence dan moral intelligence secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap komunikasi interpersonal dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 38,8% . Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa sinergi antara kemampuan mengelola emosi dan pemahaman nilai moral sangat krusial untuk membentuk komunikasi yang efektif, empatik, dan etis di lingkungan asrama.
Abstract. Adolescents living in boarding schools face intense 24-hour social dynamics, requiring competent communication skills to adapt and minimize conflict. This study aims to determine the influence of emotional intelligence and moral intelligence on interpersonal communication among adolescents in boarding schools. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The subjects were 317 boarding school students in Malang, aged 13-18 years, selected using accidental sampling technique. The research instruments used included the Interpersonal Communication Scale (adapted from DeVito's theory), the Assessing Emotional Scale (AES), and the Moral Competency Inventory (MCI). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results indicated that emotional intelligence and moral intelligence simultaneously had a significant influence on interpersonal communication, with an effective contribution of 38.8%. The conclusion of this study confirms that the synergy between the ability to manage emotions and the understanding of moral values is crucial for shaping effective, empathetic, and ethical communication in the dormitory environment.
