Abstract

Abstract. Human resources play a crucial role in addressing increasingly complex challenges in the digitalization era. Psychological well-being in the workplace has become a global concern, particularly for sales employees who serve as the frontline of a company and are at risk of experiencing decreased psychological well-being due to high job demands. Psychological well-being does not emerge spontaneously but is shaped by various factors, one of which is occupational stress. This study aims to examine the effect of occupational stress on psychological well-being among sales employees. Using a quantitative correlational design, this research employed purposive sampling and involved 205 sales respondents. The instruments used were the Job Stress Scale (JSS) and the Mental Health Inventory (MHI) focusing on the psychological well-being dimension. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results showed a significant effect of occupational stress on psychological well-being among sales employees, with p < .001 (p < 0.05) and a contribution of 27.2% (R² = 0.272). These findings indicate that the psychological well-being of sales employees is influenced by their ability to manage emotional demands and job pressures simultaneously, emphasizing that managing occupational stress is an essential aspect of maintaining psychological well-being.
