Abstract
Work readiness refers to the attitudes, knowledge, and skills that individuals, particularly fresh graduates, should possess to be prepared and achieve success in the workplace. A high level of work readiness helps individuals adapt to job demands and face various challenges in the professional environment. Work readiness is influenced by several factors, one of which is career self-efficacy, defined as an individual's belief in their ability to make decisions and manage their career. This study aims to examine the effect of career self-efficacy on work readiness among fresh graduates. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 349 fresh graduates who had graduated within the last year from various universities in Indonesia and were currently unemployed. They were selected using a non-probability sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were the Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy Scale (CDMSE-IND) and the Work Readiness Scale (WRS). The data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of JASP. The results of the analysis showed that career self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on work readiness (F = 146.7, p < .001), with a standardized regression coefficient of β = 0.545 and an R² value of 0.297. Career self-efficacy explains 29.7% of the variance in work readiness, while the remaining 70.3% is influenced by other factors outside this study. These findings indicate that the higher the level of career self-efficacy, the higher the work readiness among fresh graduates.
