Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy and soft skills on work readiness among final-year students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This study used a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to two hundred final-year student respondents selected using a proportionate stratified sampling technique. The main variables analyzed included self-efficacy, soft skills, and work readiness. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results showed that self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on work readiness, and soft skills also had a positive and significant effect on work readiness. The adjusted coefficient of determination value indicated that variations in work readiness could be explained by self-efficacy and soft skills, while the remainder was influenced by other variables outside this study. Theoretically, this study strengthens the human capital perspective and social cognitive theory regarding the importance of self-confidence and interpersonal competence in readiness to enter the workforce. Practically, the results of this study provide implications for universities to strengthen programs to develop students' self-confidence and soft skills to improve work readiness. This study makes an important contribution to understanding the determinants of work readiness among final-year students.
