Abstract
Dating violence often occurs in everyday life. The forms of violence in dating are
physical, psychological, and sexual violence. Actions in courtship can have a negative
psychological and physiological impact on both perpetrators and victims, from the need
to know various factors that can cause acts of violence in dating relationships. This
study aims to examine the role of emotion regulation as a moderator in the relationship
between child abuse and dating violence.T he sampling technique used snowball with a
total of 211 subjects. Measurements were made using the Comprehensive Child
Maltreatment, Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), and Conflict Tastics
Scale (CTS2) measure research variables. Data analysis used the Moderated
Regression Analysis (MRA) method with the help of SPSS 23 software. The results
showed that moderating emotion regulation had no significant effect on the relationship
between childhood violence and dating violence.
