PERAN KELUARGA DALAM MENGANTISIPASI TIMBULNYA KESEPIAN (LONELINESS) UNTUK PENCEGAHAN GANGGUAN MENTAL PADA LANSIA DI DESA SUMBERPANDAN KABUPATEN BLITAR

This This study aims to examine the role of the family in anticipating loneliness in order to prevent mental disorders among the elderly in Sumberpandan Village, Blitar Regency. Approximately 0,9% of the elderly population in the area have experienced mild to severe mental disorders caused by loneliness, which in certain cases may lead to suicide. This research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research design. Data were collected through observation, in- depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of one of their family members elderly individuals. The data were analyzed using Alfred Schutz's phenomenological theory, particularly the concepts of Because Motive and In Order to Motive. The findings reveal that the family's role in anticipating loneliness among the elderly is manifested through emotional support, intensive communication, involvement in daily activities, as well as consistent attention and empathy. The family functions as the primary support system in maintaining the psychological well-being of the elderly.
