Balap Liar sebagai Bentuk Perilaku Menyimpang Remaja Dalam Perspektif Teori Strain Robert K. Merton (Studi di Jalan Ahmad Yani, Kecamatan Blimbing, Kota Malang).

This study analyze the practice of illegal street racing among adolescents on Ahmad Yani Street, Blimbing District, Malang City from a criminological perspective using Robert K. Merton’s Strain Theory. This research uses an empirical legal research method with a juridical-criminological approach. Data were obtained through interviews with several informants involved in illegal street racing and supported by a literature review. The result show that adolescents’ involvement in illegal street racing is influenced by their desire to gain recognition,
status, and reputation within their peer groups. However, access to official racing facilities is considered limited due to distance and cost. This condition creates a strain berween social goals and the available means, leading adolescent to choose illegal street racing as an alternatif way to gain social recognition.
