Abstract
Vocational interests are an important psychological construct that plays a role in guiding individuals’ career choices and development This study aims to adapt the Comprehensive Assessment of Basic Interests-O*NET (CABIN-NET) instrument into Indonesian so that it can be used as a valid and reliable tool. The study was conducted in two phases with a total of 375 respondents using convenience sampling. The results indicate that the Indonesian version of CABIN-NET possesses adequate psychometric quality. All RIASEC dimensions and basic interests demonstrated high internal consistency reliability (α and ω > 0.70). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) results indicate that the basic interest factor structure meets model fit criteria (RMSEA: 0.02, CFI: 0.95, TLI: 0.95, SRMR: 0.04). Meanwhile, the Holland factor structure does not yet meet model fit criteria (RMSEA: 0.04, CFI: 0.84, TLI: 0.83, SRMR: 0.07). Convergent validity is supported by positive and significant correlations between RIASEC (CABIN-NET) scores and the O*NET Interest Profiler. These findings indicate that the Indonesian version of CABIN-NET is a valid, reliable, and applicable career interest instrument for measuring career interests in the Indonesian population.
