Abstract
Former substance users often face various challenges following rehabilitation, such as social stigma, adjustment difficulties, and challenges in maintaining behavioral change. These conditions highlight the importance of resilience, so that individuals are expected to be able to regulate and accept themselves. This study aims to examine the effect of self-regulation on resilience among former drug users, as well as to analyze the role of self-acceptance as a moderating variable that strengthens or weakens this relationship using a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 357 former NAPZA users aged 15–64 years who had ceased using NAPZA for at least 3 months, recruited via incidental sampling. Data collection was conducted using the Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), the Self-Regulated Questionnaire, and the Sheerer Self-Acceptance Scale. Data analysis was performed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the assistance of Jeffreys’s Amazing Statistics Program (JASP). The results of the study indicate that there is no significant effect of selfregulation on resilience (β = -0,041; p < 0,485). However, the interaction between selfregulation and self-acceptance has a significant effect on resilience (β = 0,259; p < 0,001), indicating that self-acceptance acts as a moderating variable.
