Abstract

The recovery process of former drug users is influenced not only by biological factors but also by psychological factors that play a crucial role in individuals’ ability to endure and adapt after facing various challenges. This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and resilience among former drug users. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed in this study. The participants consisted of 357 former drug users aged 15–64 years who had abstained from drug use for at least three months prior to the study. The instruments used were the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) to measure self-efficacy and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) to assess resilience. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation with the assistance of the JASP application. The results indicated that most respondents demonstrated high levels of self-efficacy and resilience. The correlation analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and resilience (r = 0.496; p < 0.001). These findings suggest that individuals with stronger self-efficacy tend to exhibit better resilience. Therefore, strengthening self-efficacy may serve as an important focus of psychological interventions within rehabilitation programs to support the sustainability of the recovery process and prevent relapse.
