Abstract

Responsibility and obligation in carrying out state duties for a soldier are certainly values that must be upheld, even though the implementation of their duties is filled with the risk of work accidents that cause disability, therefore resilience is needed to recover from difficult situations. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy and emotional regulation on the resilience of TNI personnel at the Ministry of Defense Rehabilitation Center. This research method uses a quantitative approach with a correlational approach with subjects of 100 male TNI personnel aged 20-60 years at the Ministry of Defense Rehabilitation Center who experienced postnatal disabilities, with purposive sampling. The instruments in this study were the General Self-Efficacy (GSES) adaptation version scale, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire adaptation version scale, and the Resilience Quotient Test (RQ Test) scale by Reivich and Shatte (2002), which have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of this study indicate that self-efficacy and emotional regulation influence resilience with a significance value of p < 0.001. However, when tested independently, the emotional regulation variable does not have a significant influence on resilience. The implications of this study provide an understanding that resilience is not always shaped by affective factors directly, but is more strongly influenced by cognitive factors in the form of confidence in one's abilities.
