Abstract
Drug abuse remains an important issue to this day. This problem has an impact on individuals' physical, psychological, and social aspects. Challenges faced by former drug users, such as psychological pressure and social stigma, require the ability to bounce back and adapt, resilience. One factor that plays a role in increasing resilience is self-compassion. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and resilience in former drug users. This study uses a non-experimental quantitative method with a correlational design. The subjects in this study were 357 former drug users who had stopped using drugs for at least 3 months. The research instruments used were the Short Form of the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS-SF) and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). This study was analyzed using Pearson's correlation technique. The results of this study show a positive relationship between self-compassion and resilience in former drug users. This study implies that strengthening self-compassion is important to support psychological resilience and the success of the recovery process of former drug users.
