Abstract
The hospitality industry is characterized by long working hours and shift systems, making the balance between work and personal life important for employees. This study aims to determine the relationship between work-life balance and work engagement among Hotel X employees. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 97 hotel employees who had been actively working for at least three months using purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Work-Life Balance Scale (WLBS) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between work-life balance and work engagement (r = 0.436; p < 0.001). This indicates that the better the employees’ balance between work and personal life, the higher their level of work engagement. Keywords: work life balance, work engagement, hotel employees.
