Abstract
The increasing demands of work in today's era make work-life and personal life demands more susceptible to overlap. This has the potential to cause an imbalance between work and personal life, or work-life balance. One factor suspected of being related to the formation of work-life balance is affective commitment. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between affective commitment and work-life balance. The research method used a quantitative approach with a correlational research design, with 100 state owned enterprise (BUMN) employees from various state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in Indonesia as subjects. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Measurements were made using the Work-Life Balance Scale and the Affective Commitment Scale. Data
analysis used the Pearson product-moment correlation test. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between affective commitment and work-life balance, with an r value of 0.535 and a p-value <0.01. This is in accordance with the affective event theory, which serves as the theoretical foundation for this study.
