Abstract

Students in completing their final assignments are faced with various high academic obstacles, these obstacles have a psychological impact that can reduce self-confidence in completing their final assignments. Self-efficacy is an individual's belief in their ability to complete a task. This study aims to examine the relationship between fear of academic failure and self-efficacy in students in completing their final thesis assignments. This research method uses a quantitative approach with a total of 405 respondents in the study. The subjects in this study were students who were completing their final assignments, at least in the 7th semester and both male and female. The research sampling technique was non-probability sampling, namely with an accidental sampling technique. The scale measuring instruments used in this study were the Fear of Failure Scale (PFAI) and the Thesis Completion Self-Efficacy Scale. This data was analyzed using the Spearman's Rho correlation test (ρ). The results showed that ρ = -0.448, p = <0.001. This means that there is a significant negative relationship between the variable of fear of academic failure and self-efficacy in students who are completing their final assignments.
