Abstract
This study aims to develop an environmental care character assessment model for junior high school students in Adiwiyata schools based on the ADDIE approach (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation, Evaluation). The assessment model was designed to measure three main character dimensions, namely moral
knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. The research subjects included 126 respondents in the needs analysis stage, 198 students in the implementation stage, and involved expert validators from the fields of education, psychology, and
Adiwiyata assessors. The results showed that: (1) There was a perception gap between teachers and students regarding changes in environmental care character, with the average perception of teachers (82.57%) being higher than that of students (79.53%); (2) The developed assessment model was declared highly valid based on content validation (mean score 3.85) and construct validity through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with AVE values > 0.50, CR > 0.70, as well as RMSEA = 0.0445 and p-value = 0.6043 indicating a close fit; (3) The practicality test showed a very practical category according to teachers (85.42%) and students (83.67%); (4) The implementation of the model showed significant
differences in the moral feeling and moral action dimensions between Adiwiyata and non-Adiwiyata schools, while the moral knowing dimension did not differ significantly, indicating that the model is contextually sensitive and capable of measuring character comprehensively. The conclusion of this study is that the
environmental care assessment model based on moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action has met the criteria of being valid, reliable, practical, and effective, making it suitable for use as an instrument for measuring the environmental care character of junior high school students in both Adiwiyata and non-Adiwiyata schools.
