Abstract

As a company operating in the manufacturing sector, PT. X faces high employee turnover, which has the potential to reduce work effectiveness and productivity. Furthermore, previous studies have yielded inconsistent results regarding the impact of workload on turnover intention, creating a research gap that warrants further investigation. Without a clear understanding of the relationship between these two variables, the company may struggle to manage its human resources optimally. The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of workload on turnover intention among PT. X employees. This study employs a quantitative approach using a correlational design and involves 115 employee respondents from PT. X. The instruments used are the Demand-Control-Social Questionnaire (DCSQ) and the Expanded Multidimensional Turnover Intention Scale (EMTIS). The study conducted a simple linear regression test to examine the relationships between variables. The regression test results indicate that workload does not have a significant effect on turnover intention, with an R² value of 0.20 (p < 0.001). A high workload does not necessarily drive an employee’s intention to resign from their job. These results suggest that turnover intention is a complex phenomenon and is likely influenced by other factors beyond workload, including those related to.
