Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between academic burnout and academic procrastination among Psychology students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Students are often faced with complex academic burdens, such as coursework, practical assignments, and theses, which if not managed properly can trigger both physical and mental exhaustion. The research method used was quantitative correlational with a purposive sampling technique. The research subjects consisted of 315 active Psychology students from the 2018–2023 cohorts. Data were collected using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) to measure academic burnout and the Academic Procrastination Scale (APS) to measure academic procrastination. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test with IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results showed a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.762 with a significance value of p < 0.01. This indicates a significant positive relationship between academic burnout and academic procrastination. The higher the level of academic burnout experienced by students, the higher their tendency to engage in academic procrastination. This research provides theoretical implications for the development of educational psychology and practical implications for educational institutions, lecturers, and students in efforts to prevent and manage academic burnout and academic procrastination.
