PROSES REHABILITASI SOSIAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN INTERAKSI SOSIAL LANSIA DENGAN GANGGUAN JIWA DI YAYASAN PANTI REHABILITASI JIWA KARYA ASIH LAWANG

This study aims to describe the stages and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the social rehabilitation process to improve the social interaction of elderly people with mental disorders at the Karya Asih Lawang Mental Rehabilitation Center Foundation. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method using data collection techniques, namely direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the stages in the social rehabilitation process provided by the Karya Asih Lawang Mental Rehabilitation Center Foundation include direct observation, approach, provision of activities, administration of medication, monthly reports, and observation of results. In carrying out the social rehabilitation process at the Karya Asih Lawang Mental Rehabilitation Center, the supporting factors were good cooperation between the assistants and the beneficiaries, as well as support from the beneficiaries' families. However, in carrying out the social rehabilitation process to improve the social interaction of elderly people with mental disorders, there were also inhibiting factors, namely the stabilization of the beneficiaries and inadequate infrastructure. This study concludes that the social rehabilitation process to improve social interaction among elderly people with mental disorders has successfully had a positive impact on beneficiaries, enabling them to resume social functioning and integrate into society.
