APLIKASI PUPUK KOTORAN KAMBING DAN JARAK TANAM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI TERUNG UNGU (Solanum melongena L.)

ABSRACT
Solanum melongena L. or eggplant is a horticultural plant belonging to the Solanaceae family that
contains alkaloid compounds in the form of solanine and solasodine that play a role in production.
The role of organic matter in the biological dimension of the soil includes providing substrates and
habitats for organisms and soil microbes, supplying energy for biochemical reactions in the soil, and
strengthening the resilience capacity of the soil ecosystem. This study aims to determine the
interaction between the application of goat manure fertilizer and variations in planting distance on
the growth and production of purple eggplant plants. The observation parameters consisted of plant
height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fruit length, fresh weight of fruit per plant and fresh weight
of fruit per bed. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) arranged in a factorial manner
with two factors. The first factor was the application of goat manure (K) and the second factor was
the planting distance (J) which also consisted of three treatment levels. The combination of these
two factors resulted in 9 treatments, each repeated 3 times. Based on the results of the study, it was
concluded that the data analysis showed no interaction between factor 1, the application of goat
manure fertilizer and factor 2, the planting distance on almost all observation parameters. Most
parameters showed no significant differences, except for plant height and stem diameter at 28 days
after planting, which showed significant differences in growth and yield of purple eggplant.
