Dinamika Kebutuhan Hubungan Interpersonal Perempuan Lajang di Kota Mojokerto (Studi pada Pengguna Aplikasi Kencan Daring)

The development of digital communication technology has opened up new opportunities for single women to build interpersonal relationships. This study is crucial for understanding how single women's relational needs are interpreted and met amidst the limitations of conventional social spaces and the persistence of prevailing social norms. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the interpersonal relationship needs of single women who use online dating apps in Mojokerto City. The study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven single women who actively use online dating apps. The results indicate that dating apps are used to fulfill the needs for inclusion, affection, and control. Single women use apps as a means of finding companions, obtaining emotional support, and managing the boundaries of self-disclosure in interactions. The discussion reveals that the fulfillment of these needs occurs through a process of adjustment between emotional experiences, personal communication strategies, and the demands of existing social norms. Dating apps serve as an alternative social space that allows women to build interpersonal relationships while maintaining their autonomy. This research contributes to enriching the study of interpersonal communication and digital media, particularly regarding the experiences of single women in Mojokerto City.
