Abstract

Road infrastructure development plays a significant role in improving regional
connectivity and supporting socio-economic growth. The road section connecting
Pule Village, Jatikalen District, Nganjuk Regency, and Klitih Village, Plandaan
District, Jombang Regency, with a total length of 3.2 km, currently has inadequate
accessibility conditions. This situation hampers agricultural product distribution,
limits access to education, and constrains local economic development. Therefore,
this study aims to prepare a comprehensive technical design of the road section in
accordance with applicable geometric, pavement, drainage, and economic
feasibility standards. The methodology employed in this study includes the
collection and analysis of topographic data, subgrade California Bearing Ratio
(CBR), Average Daily Traffic, and rainfall data. The design process refers to the
Directorate General of Highways (Bina Marga) guidelines and covers horizontal
and vertical alignment design, flexible pavement design, and drainage system
planning based on hydrological analysis. In addition, a Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
was prepared, and a feasibility analysis was conducted through Vehicle Operating
Cost (VOC) efficiency evaluation. The results of the design specify a two-lane two
way undivided (2/2 UD) road type with a pavement width of 7 meters and 1-meter
shoulders on each side. The flexible pavement structure was determined based on
subgrade bearing capacity and projected traffic loads. The feasibility analysis
indicates that the project is technically and economically feasible and is expected
to enhance connectivity and improve community welfare.
