Abstract
The production process at PT Indana Paint involves a series of lengthy stages, each of which requires different levels of work intensity. The company faces issues related to workload imbalance among workers across various departments, where some employees experience excessive workloads while others have excessive idle time. This study aims to address these issues by measuring workload using the Workload Indicators of Staffing Need (WISN) method. The WISN method enables the company to identify and quantify staffing requirements based on task duration and frequency, as well as to calculate the gap between available and required manpower. The results indicate that workload analysis using the WISN method is able to quantitatively determine workforce requirements based on the mapping of main production activities. The calculation produced a WISN ratio of 0.85, indicating a shortage of manpower, particularly in the main production line units, while the quality control and maintenance units were relatively sufficient. These findings reveal an imbalance in workforce distribution that has the potential to cause excessive workload among production operators.
