IMPLEMENTASI PARIS AGREEMENT OLEH PEMERINTAH TIONGKOK MELALUI KEBIJAKAN 'FIVE-YEARS PLAN 2016-2025'

Climate change is a global issue that has significant impacts on the environment, economy, and human life. To address this problem, countries around the world agreed on the Paris Agreement in 2015, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit the rise in global temperatures. China, as one of the largest emitters, ratified the agreement in 2016. This study aims to analyze how the Chinese government implements its commitments under the Paris Agreement through the Five-Year Plan policy during the 2016–2025 period. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a literature study approach, with data derived from academic journals, policy reports, and official documents. The analysis applies compliance theory to examine how states adhere to emission-related policies and contribute to addressing climate change. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Paris Agreement in China is carried out through the integration of climate policies within the 13th Five-Year Plan and the 14th Five-Year Plan. These policies include air pollution control, the development of renewable energy, and the implementation of the Emissions Trading System (ETS). However, the implementation still faces challenges, such as dependence on coal and the increasing national energy demand.
