Abstract

This study aims to analyze the deep learning-based eco-friendly program at SDN Losari and to describe its implementation based on the aspects of meaningful learning, mindful learning, and joyful learning. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with the research subjects consisting of 32 fifth-grade students, the homeroom teacher, and the school principal. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, which encompasses the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and was supported by triangulation of sources, techniques, and time to ensure data validity.
The research findings indicate that the eco-friendly program at SDN Losari has been implemented in a structured and sustainable manner through various habit-forming activities, such as maintaining classroom cleanliness, sorting waste, caring for plants, managing plant produce, and using eco-friendly products. In terms of meaningful learning, students were able to connect environmental activities with real-life daily experiences, thereby making the learning process contextual and meaningful. In terms of mindful learning, students demonstrate increased awareness and responsibility toward the environment through voluntary cleanliness behaviors. Meanwhile, regarding joyful learning, activities are conducted collaboratively and enjoyably, thereby enhancing students’ active participation.
Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of an eco-friendly program grounded in deep learning is effective in fostering conceptual understanding while cultivating environmental awareness and eco-friendly behaviors among students. Therefore, it is recommended that schools continue to develop and maintain this program consistently and integrate it into learning across various subjects. Additionally, teachers are encouraged to continue innovating in designing meaningful, mindful, and enjoyable activities so that values of environmental care can be instilled sustainably.
